But given that many GLP-1 users are also men who train regularly, with lower body fat and more prominent muscle mass, the question isn’t entirely academic: what actually happens if the needle goes too deep and lands in muscle rather than fat? The answer has real pharmacological consequences, and understanding them matters whether you’re a first-time injector or someone who has been on semaglutide for months.

Ozempic is a GLP-1 receptor agonist — a synthetic analog of glucagon-like peptide-1 that works by stimulating insulin secretion, suppressing glucagon, slowing gastric emptying, and signaling satiety in the hypothalamus.
